Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Veteran AI Workforce Housing Initiative.

About the Program

What is the Veteran AI Workforce Housing Initiative?

It's a program that combines stable shared housing with optional AI and entrepreneurship training for veterans. The goal is to help veterans achieve long-term independence through stable living and income-building skills.

Who runs this program?

The program is operated by Ingenious Solutions, LLC, a technology and automation company. Our expertise in AI implementation informs the training curriculum

Is this a shelter or emergency housing?

No. This is stable, shared residential housing—not emergency shelter. Participants have their own private bedrooms and share common areas with other veterans. It's designed for those who can live independently in a community setting.

Is this subsidized housing or government housing?

No. Housing is provided through a membership agreement with our organization. We are not a government housing program.

Housing

What does the housing look like?

Participants have a shared bedroom in a shared residential home. Common areas like the living room, kitchen, and bathrooms are shared with other veteran residents—typically 4-6 people per home.

What is a 'membership agreement'?

Instead of a traditional lease, participants sign a membership agreement. This approach can remove barriers that often prevent veterans from securing traditional rentals, while still providing stable, structured living.

Who will my housemates be?

All residents are veterans in the program. We aim to create a supportive community environment where residents can encourage each other's progress.

How long can I stay?

There's no fixed time limit. Some participants may eventually transition to fully independent housing; others may remain in the program longer while building their consulting practice. We focus on progress, not deadlines.

Training

Is the training required?

No. Training is optional. Some participants focus primarily on housing stability. You can choose to engage with training at any time, or not at all.

Do I need computer experience?

No prior technical experience is required. The training is designed for beginners and starts with fundamentals. Many modern AI tools are designed to be user-friendly.

What will I learn

The training covers practical AI tools (content creation, automation, data organization) and business fundamentals (consulting basics, client communication, pricing, proposals). The goal is to prepare you to offer AI consulting services to local small businesses.

How is the training delivered?

Training combines self-paced online content and group Zoom sessions. You can learn at your own speed while getting support when needed.

Income & Employment

Will this program get me a job?

No. We don't provide job placement. Instead, we teach you skills to build your own consulting practice. You'll learn to help local small businesses implement AI tools—work you can do on your own schedule.

Is income guaranteed?

No. Building a consulting practice requires effort and persistence. We provide the training, support, and initial guidance, but success depends on your engagement and work. We never promise guaranteed income.

What kind of businesses would I work with?

Local small businesses—restaurants, retail shops, service providers, professional offices—who want to use AI tools but don't have internal expertise. You'd help them implement and learn these tools.

Eligibility & Application

Who is eligible?

U.S. military veterans from any branch and any era who can live independently in a shared housing environment and are committed to maintaining a respectful community.

Do I need proof of veteran status?

Yes, we'll need to verify your military service. DD-214 or other official documentation is typically required.

What if I have a criminal record?

We consider applications on a case-by-case basis. A criminal record doesn't automatically disqualify you, but some offenses may affect eligibility depending on the nature and recency.

How do I apply?

Yes. We understand grant documentation requirements and can work with funders on outcome tracking and reporting.
